Interview: Davide Prevosto Web Developer & Co-founder @ Encodia

Posted in Blog

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Davide Prevosto for the FileZilla audience.
Davide, a FileZilla user, will walk us through how he has integrated FileZilla Pro into his daily workflow.

To start, Could you share your journey into SEO and describe your current position in the field?

I got started in the digital world in 1998, back when the internet was still in its early days. Over time, I’ve seen the field evolve, and I’ve grown alongside it. Today, I’m the co-founder of the web agency Encodia and work as a senior full-stack developer with a strong focus on technical SEO.

My role combines hands-on coding with strategic optimization, and I even had the chance to co-author SEO Audit Avanzato (Ed. LSWR – https://www.auditseo.it), an effort that reflects my ongoing commitment to blending technical insights with smart marketing.

Which parts of your work do you enjoy the most?

I really enjoy working where technology meets strategy. Whether I’m enhancing a dynamic CMS like WordPress, architecting robust applications with Laravel, or crafting seamless user interfaces with frameworks like Vue.js, Astro, or Angular, there’s a lot of satisfaction in solving challenging coding problems and fine-tuning a website’s performance to boost both user experience and search engine rankings.

I also appreciate the constant learning curve: it keeps me on my toes and drives me to stay updated with the latest tools and techniques.

What specific features of FileZilla Pro convinced you to integrate it into your workflow?

FileZilla Pro caught my eye with its solid support for secure file transfers and its clear, user-friendly interface. While we mainly use automated deployments to maintain a smooth workflow, FileZilla Pro is invaluable when we need to make quick fixes or access files directly.

Its ability to connect to object storage like AWS S3 service is another big plus, especially since we rely on AWS for various parts of our projects.

In the SEO audit process, does FileZilla Pro support you in managing and updating files on the server? If so, how?

Yes, it does. Although our primary approach is automated deployment, there are occasions during an SEO audit when immediate file adjustments are necessary. For example, if I need to update a configuration file or tweak a meta tag after spotting an issue, FileZilla Pro lets me securely connect to the server, navigate its file structure, open the file, make the necessary changes, and quickly re-upload it: all executed “a regola d’arte”.

This direct access ensures that any urgent adjustments are implemented without delay, helping maintain optimal site performance and search engine visibility.

What advice would you give to SEO professionals looking to optimize their workflow using file transfer tools?

My advice is to thoroughly understand the strengths and limitations of any file transfer tool you integrate into your workflow. For example, FileZilla Pro excels at quick interventions, like when an urgent update to a configuration file or meta tag is needed after spotting an issue during an SEO audit.

In such cases, it allows you to jump in, make precise changes, and get the site back on track before a minor glitch turns into a major problem (think of it as pulling a code-level “Easter egg” to save the day). This approach is especially useful when facing unexpected challenges such as sudden server misconfigurations or urgent tweaks needed to remedy indexing issues, ensuring that your site remains both secure and optimized for search engines.

When you’re not conducting SEO audits or working on websites, how do you like to spend your free time?

When I’m not deep in code or SEO audits, I like to keep up with the latest tech trends and experiment with new programming languages. I also really enjoy going for a run and, whenever possible, heading out for a refreshing mountain hike.

On top of that, I have a background in music – even though I no longer play the guitar – I love listening to great music, and you’ll often find Spotify on, except when the work gets intense. These activities help me clear my mind and recharge, so I can return to work with fresh perspectives and renewed energy.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts. I’m looking forward to seeing the interview on the FileZilla blog.
