Let’s be honest: FileZilla is not the easiest name to type on the first try. Or the second. “Filzilla”, “filezila”, “file zilla” — you are in excellent company. Thousands of people make exactly the same typos every month, and every single one of them is looking for the same thing.

You want FileZilla. It’s free — nobody does free better than FileZilla. Been around since 2002. That’s a lot of years. Many, many years. Great client, very powerful, everybody says so. Go download it. It’s going to be beautiful.

But since you’re here…

You landed on filezillapro.com, which is — plot twist — a different product. FileZilla Pro is the paid, professional upgrade built for people who need more than plain FTP. If any of the following sound familiar, it might be worth two more minutes of your time.

  • You work with cloud storage. FileZilla Pro connects to Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, SharePoint, Backblaze B2, Dropbox, Google Drive, and more — all from the same interface you already know. The free client doesn’t do any of that.
  • You need WebDAV. FileZilla Pro supports WebDAV natively. The free client doesn’t.
  • You live in the terminal. FileZilla also offers two CLI editions — FileZilla CLI for scriptable FTP, FTPS and SFTP transfers, and FileZilla Pro CLI for automating transfers to cloud storage and WebDAV as well.

On a Mac? There’s something extra.

Mac users get an additional option worth knowing about: Remote Drive.

Remote Drive lets you mount remote servers and cloud storage directly in the macOS Finder — FTP, FTPS, SFTP, Amazon S3, Google Drive, OneDrive, and all the other cloud services FileZilla Pro supports. They show up like any other drive or USB stick on your desktop. Drag files in and out, open them in any app, use Spotlight to search them. No transfer interface, no queue, no client window.

If you’ve ever wished your FTP server or S3 bucket would just appear in Finder rather than requiring a dedicated app to touch it, Remote Drive is exactly that.

P.S. The correct spelling is F-i-l-e-Z-i-l-l-a. Two l’s. We’ve had years of practice too.
